Information Age dating relies more on head than heart

(Valerie Schultz)- Thanks to online matchmaking, diving into the pool of dating possibility is a much less random experience. Personal data is collected, collated, analyzed, synthesized, and bingo: here is the mathematically logical person for you. Or at least a short list of probable compatibles. I'm not sure how falling in love has become the equivalent of solving for x, but I am from the old school of irrelevance.

Also new in the realm of pairing off, there is, according to my daughters, apparently no such thing anymore as a "blind date."  Read more here…

Playing Cupid for Beijing's singles

(ChinaDaily)- "Some Chinese women want to find their future husbands and take speed
dating very seriously," she says.

"One woman brought her computer and typed all the answers she got from her questions. She was creating a survey.”

"We are not a matchmaking company. We don't work that way because there are plenty

Q&A: Traditional matchmaking services vs. online dating?

(Ditto Effect)- Question for the relationships experts: just curious if anyone might hopefully be familiar with how more traditional, brick-and-mortar style matchmaking services differ/compare with online dating (aside from the higher cost involved and the fact that matchmakers assist the members more with the process)? For example, is there a general higher or lower success rate of meeting compatible people vs. online dating? Read more here…
